Items
needed: A wig
stand, hair weave, weaving glue, scissors, stocking cap, blowdrier.
Instructions
Step 1:
First, place 2 pieces of paper towel under the stocking cap to catch any
glue that might seep through (for step 4)
Step 2:
Place the stocking cap on the wig stand.
Step 3:
Pick up the hair tracks and place it on the stocking cap to judge how
much to cut.
Step 4:
Once you make your decision, take your scissors and cut the track.
Step 5:
Take your glue and put it on the back of the track then promptly place
about one inch from the bottom of the stocking cap. (Don't overdo the
glue).
Step 6:
Immediately use your blowdrier to help the glue dry faster.
Step 7:
Repeat steps 2 - 5 for the rest of the rows and let completely dry.
Notes
• A Stocking
Cap Weave is a technique where hair weave is glued to the stocking cap.
I'm not sure about the professional way since I've never seen one being
created, but this works great! I only made one and I doubt I will make
another, I'd rather buy a wig.
• Depending
on the type of weave you buy, this could be a cheaper alternative to buying
a wig. The following directions is the way I create my stocking cap weave
• To make the
stocking cap, take a pair of new or clean pantyhose. Cut the legs off
(leave about 3 inches).
• Tie the excess
(the 3 inches) into a knot then cut the excess off. I begin by leaving
one inch around the frontal hairline exposed.
• I use hair
clamps to keep the stocking cap weave in place then place a scarf over
it. Works like a charm!
• (It may take
a couple tries to figure where to line up the rows, so don't buy expensive
hair for your first trial.)
