Headwraps

Items needed: Fabric and a lil patience :)

Step 1: Put your hair into a ponytail or push your hair back and secure with bobby pins and put on a stocking cap (optional).

Step 2: Drape your headwrap across the front. Make sure your head is in the center of the fabric and it line the edge with your hairline.

Step 3: Grab the bottom of the material and fold until you reach your ears. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 4: Using the tails of the fabric, tie a knot behind your head. Until you get the hang of it, you may need someone to hold the front. Or you can also bend over slightly to prevent the material from slipping off.

Step 5: Pretend like you're putting the wrap into a ponytail, hold the middle with your left hand then wrap the tail in a circular motion around the bunch with your right hand.

Step 6: Tuck the tails into the knot.

Basic wrap

Step 1: Put your hair into a ponytail or push your hair back and secure with bobby pins and put a stocking cap (optional).

Step 2: Place headwrap behind head with your head in center of material.

Step 3: Wrap around the left and right side of the fabric to the front of your head.

Step 4: Proceed to wrap and crisscross the material. You can do different patterns once you get comfortable doing this basic wrap.

Step 5: When you get near the end, tuck that part under a layer of the wrap and so the same to the other side. Be careful and don't wrap too tight!

I purchase my fabric from the fabric store. It's inexpensive and I like being able to choose the material, color and size of the fabric. I normally use 1 -2 yards of 100% cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. Slik and satin types tend to slip off my big head. You can purchase readymade headwraps as well!
